Grade school hosts fall open house Notre Dame de Sion Grade School hosts a fall open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the grade school campus, 2823 Locust St. A light lunch will be served. Call 753-3810 for reservations.
Metropolitan Community College and the University of Missouri- Kansas City have signed a dual admission agreement that allows students to seamlessly transition from MCC to UMKC. The agreement allows students to complete an online form that indicates plans to transfer to UMKC. “As Kansas City’s university, we strive to make higher education accessible to all students and are pleased to be able to partner with Metropolitan Community College on this dual admission program,” Mel Tyler, UMKC’s vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment management said. “This agreement will help MCC students as they transfer to earn their bachelor’s degrees.” UMKC advisors will review student transcripts to evaluate how credits may transfer. The agreement also allows students to transfer UMKC credits to MCC. For information, visit www.umkc.edu/admissions/dap/. Elementary school hosts collection Red Bridge Elementary hosts the Make a Difference Day collection at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Red Bride Elementary School, 10781 Oak St. Attendees can make a donation, eat chili and pick up fundraiser items.
